The Magdalene Project at Union Mission is a 20-bed emergency shelter for homeless women and their children who can stay for a period of up to 90-days with a primary focus on shelter, food, clothing, transportation, mental health counseling, and employment services. This program provides a stable environment and supportive services necessary for homeless mothers to be successful in supporting their children.
Union Mission is raising funds on Giving Tuesday in order to remodel 4 bathrooms at this location. Getting kids ready for school can be stressful; imagine sharing a space with 5 other mothers and 12 children. For these families, basic day-to-day activities like bathing children at night should be the least of their worries. Union Mission wants to remodel these 4 bathrooms to better accommodate these families who are trying to leave homelessness behind.
Giving Tuesday is a global day dedicated to giving back. Each year, on the Tuesday immediately following Thanksgiving, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
It’s a simple idea. Let’s find a way for your family, community, company or organization to come together to give something more. Help Union Mission spread the word this #GivingTuesday by telling everyone you can to give and help make a difference in our local community. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.
